Favourite Quote | "Right now it’s: I am not African because I was born in Africa, but because Africa was born in me” - Kwame Nkrumah
Favourite Hero | That would have to be Black Lightning - that show was super corny but it did in fact alter my brain chemistry.
Favourite Teacher | I’m gonna be cheeky and keep this one to myself but I did LOVE my geography teacher Mr Sikuade (SHIK-WA-DAY) he gave us sweets for answering questions and at the end of every class he would say “I think it’s time to call it a Sikuade” - at our very last class, I said it back to him - bless him; pure soul!
How many Black Teachers Did You Have | Not as much as I would like - I wish all of em were lol but definitely at least 10 from reception to Year 13 - not more than 25 (I’ve been to lots of schools and it depends if we are counting learning mentors and TAs)
What Decade Did You start primary School ? | I started primary school in 2009-2010 so we’re gonna say the 2010s for good measure.
Why are you a part of BlackStarAcademy? | It was always my pleasure advocating for myself and my classmates at school so when I saw the opportunity to continue to advocate for young people, I took it! I am very passionate about black love and building our community up and one of the surest ways to do that is through QUALITY education
What Do you do at BlackStarAcademy? | My role is to make sure that everyone feels included in the space and to engage with the students to make sure that their learning environment is the absolute best it can be!
